Anyway, I somehow thought my brain would spring back to normal once I had the baby and the pregnancy hormones went away, but check this out:
Don't the nipples sort of remind you of how cannibals mount heads on stakes, and might this have something to do with my feelings on breastfeeding?

I think you may need some more sleep. How's the baby doing? Giving her Momma any rest.
LOL, what an odd looking contraption... heads on stakes? perhaps :)
Hmmmm. No, no, it doesn't remind me of heads on a stake. It's definitely your mush for brains playing tricks on you. :) My oldest is almost 8 and my brain STILL doesn't work like it used to. *sigh*
Damn, I was really hoping I wasn't crazy. It doesn't look promising.
Actually, I think it looks like some sort of crystal glass ornament type thing so I'm obviously crazy and I have no new baby to excuse this behaviour.
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting, hope to see you back.
I think it looks like used condoms which I think is a sign of the fact that I'm so effing sex-deprived!!!!!
I can see how it would remind you of heads on stakes, but I too think more of used condoms (count me as sex-deprived, though).
I hope you didn't expect to ever get your brain back...its gone for good.
It took 3 years for my brain to get back to (almost) normal. Of course, lil pill breastfed every 45 minutes for 27 months so sleep wasn't a concept with which I was familiar. It's amazing how 4 hours of sleep will rejuvenate you after a year of breastfeeding! :)
Yes. Heads on stakes is exactly what that looks like. And soooo funny!
so, my comment on breastfeeding is a bit late b/c i read your post when i was still pregnant. i'm now 13 days postpartum and wanted to share the root of all my breastfeeding problems, on the very off chance that it's the same one you are having... baby was/is tongue-tied. i was watching him scream bloody murder around day 8 as we tried to nurse... the usual 15 minutes of him screaming followed by 3 minutes of me crying in pain once he finally latched... and noticed his tongue was sort of heart shaped. long story short, the piece of skin under his tongue needed to be clipped (totally painless, no blood, he didn't even wake up). it was preventing him from latching on well (well, he still can't latch on too well... we think it wasn't clipped enough), which caused me "severe nipple trauma" which opened me up to bacterial infection so i now have mastitis, which led to antibiotics, which led to thrush in him and a yeast infection on my boobs. i think that is the extent of our problems right now... oh, my milk supply seems to be dwindling. i'm afraid of not being able to keep up with his demand... he's bottle feeding now. anywho, if you're in madison, there are some good lactation people at happy bambino. it's 40 bucks for one time and you get to go tuesdays and fridays. the end!
You're brilliant... sleep deprived, but brilliant.
One day early post-baby, I swear I saw kangaroos hopping down the road (I was a passenger). I *saw* them.
Cannibal-nipples? Not nearly as insane... unless you see little people dancing around them on your counter.
Ha... cannibal nipples... that cracked me up.
